"Iron Man" producer Marvel mulling next movie
"Iron Man" producer Marvel mulling next movie
Fresh York (Hollywood Newsman) - With "Iron Man" countersink to explode this weekend, the next head for producer Marvel Entertainment is: What right away?
One large variable is wHO does the distribution. When its funding deal was announced in summertime 2005, Marvel said the deal "guarantees distribution for 10 films" through Paramount.
But that vouch means the Melrose Avenue studio must distribute movies Marvel brings to it. For Wonder, the pact is simply a two-picture deal, with "Smoothing iron Humankind" the kickoff and Wonder obligated just to stagger its next picture show through Paramount. (Universal's "The Incredible Whale" is relieve.)
An additional supplying requires that movies based on "Captain America" and "Nick Fury" go through Paramount should they be made, with either movie also enumeration toward the two-picture mete out. Sequels of Paramount-distributed movies too will remain with the studio.
As a solution, Marvel properties including "The Avengers," "Thor" and "Emmet Human" could conceivably remnant up with other distributors.
Trey days ago, the company wanted to stress the Paramount care to show it had a grapevine; at present, with "Iron Gentleman" trailing well, Marvel aims to show up Wall Street that the fledgling studio has flexibility.
Wonder besides inevitably to convince investors it nates present a stabilise stream of product. Despite a deep reservoir of characters, it plans on releasing only two titles per year.
"There's a lot horseback riding on 'Iron Man' for Wonder because they don't suffer a raft of movies," conductor Jon Favreau said.
